Kate McMorran, an MFA student in the Writing for the Screen and Stage program, was recognized for her film CHOPSTICK, which won the judges’ choice award at the Playbill Virtual Theatre Festival.

Center stage, again

Senior Kalan Hauser got to stop by Studio 1A, joining Northwestern alum Sheinelle Jones, on the Today show as part of its series spotlighting remarkable 2024 graduates from the hosts’ alma maters. One might remember Hauser from his Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon appearance, wherein he walked on his hands and recited the digits of the mathematical constant pi.

Serena Mon and Malak Elmissary

NSF honors CSD

Communication sciences and disorders Ph.D. students Serena Mon and Malak Elmissary were awarded prestigious National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowships. Mon’s project is “Establishing a Neural Mechanism of Social Contingency Detection in Language Learning,” and Elmissary’s is "Combatting Neuromyths Through Linguistic Modulations of Refutation Texts." Congratulations to both doctoral candidates.
